Souls Demise - Angels Of Darkness

Formed in 1999 Souls Demise was soon established as the best unsigned thrash act from the millennium in the Chicago-area. Playing a thrash metal-style focused on melodic guitars by the two axemen Larry Scola and Tony Dascola the band unfortunately suffered on the permanent changes of band members, especially on the vocals.

Each of that changes on the microphone brought a small change of style, but each of them produced some highlights worth mentioning in the history of thrash metal.

Rawhead - Demonstrations

Formed in 1990 near Seattle, Rawhead were pushing a powerful  fast aggressive metal style at a time when a flood of musicians and media descended into the Northwest hypnotized by the “grunge sound.” Long before the “yarl”, there was a dense network of heavy and aggressive music seething in the underground. A few of those bands broke through the hype and hooked up with small distributors and pioneering metal labels. Rawhead flew beneath the radar, independent and unattached to any imprint. Undeterred, they self-released quickly recorded demo cassettes out to local and international DIY networks of metal heads getting the music out into the trenches. In the wake of an overwhelming commercialized wave, Rawhead—like many of the loudest, heaviest, hardest hitting bands from that time in the Northwest—left the evidence in the echoes of those nights on the floors and in the pits of the live shows.

Hate S.A. - La Sangre Del Tiempo

This release is – like the very first one – very special, very personal to me. I am very proud to work with HATE S.A. and to get the chance to re-release their sold out 2013 masterpiece “La Sangre Del Tiempo” (The Blood Of Time).

I am following the bands career since their “Republica de Odio”-release in 2003 which already was a good one. But the following works had been a steady improvement talking about songwriting, technical skills and the complete representation of the band. Fulminating in two of the best groove thrash albums of all time (if you ask me): “La Sangre Del Tiempo” and “Prevalecer”. (The latter one may be to be released on CD through Ragnarök at the end of 2017 for the very first time.)
These albums both have what a perfect (groove) thrash album needs: Solid songwriting, outstanding technical skills, measuring riffs and leads, an aggressive voice, spanish lyrics which underline that special south American feeling about social circumstances, the indian legacy and at least a cover that fits perfectly to that dark, scary and rebellious atmosphere.

What you get here is no less than a masterpiece!!!

Mass Hypnosia - Toxiferous Cyanide

Mass Hypnosia is a thrash metal band from the eastern fringes of Metro Manila's derelict urban landscape. This drunk addicts have given us a taste of true violence, death and horror.

Untouched by the blinding ineptitude that plagues the local Philippine band scene they guard their underground ideology with a fence of barbwired independence. They have stocked their arsenal with an uncomprable and uncompromising barrage of hate and strife that is heard clear and precise within their riffs and the disturbingly intent nature of the band's murderous vocal screams.

Yet, Mass Hypnosia is not contented. Slowly gaining notoriety and status on the Filipino underground music community, founder Karl Rosales kept and still keeps the fire burning despite of several lineup changes. Since their 2011 demo (Blood Spotted Bullet Face) the band focuses on a matured, raw and gritty sound which would become the prototype of the new direction the band is bound on.

All this cumulating in the release of “Toxiferous Cyanide”: An album full of raw and energetic thrash metal which sounds as thrash should sound!

Lost World Order - Tyrants

Lost World Order - Tyrants

With their new album „Tyrants“, LOST WORLD ORDER finalize their endtime-trilogy that was started with „Marauders“ and continued with „Parasites“. The end of the world has come, and LOST WORLD ORDER are the prophets of ruin in a disturbing dystopia.

The band was founded in 2008, gained a wide fanbase with the free download of „Marauders“ and even raised it with „Parasites” with the CD-version released via GoodDamn Records.

Besides the aggressive riffs, which are situated somewhere between classic Bay Area and German Ruhr area, the impulsive drumming and the pumping basslines, there are twin guitar leads with NWOBHM-vibes, modern walls of sound and catchy chorus lines. The vocals set priorities from Thrash-shouting over growls to dark clear singing.
