MASS HYPNOSIA werden im beiliegenden Label-Info nicht nur als bekannteste, sondern auch beste Thrash-Band der Philippinen bezeichnet. Ob Letzteres stimmt, kann ich nicht beurteilen, denn mir fallen im Moment nur ein paar philippinische Death-Metal-Bands ein, die über die Grenzen ihres Landes hinaus Beachtung gefunden haben. Auf jeden Fall gibt es MASS HYPNOSIA schon seit zehn Jahren, und die drei bisher erschienenen Longplayer und diversen Split-Releases haben allesamt internationales Format. Das Trio sieht sich selbst von alten Kreator, Sadus, Merciless oder Sacrifice beeinflusst, was man auch deutlich hört. Besonders Sadus klingen im ruppigen Gesang durch, während die Gitarrenarbeit an ganz frühe Kreator/Tormentor erinnert. Meist geben MASS HYPNOSIA Vollgas und setzen dabei eine Menge Wut und Power frei. „Filigran“ ist hier nichts - dafür aber alles völlig ungezügelt und entfesselt. MASS HYPNOSIA are referred to in the attached label info not only as the best known, but also the best thrash band in the Philippines. Whether the latter is true, I can not judge, because I can think of only a few Philippine Death Metal bands, which have found beyond the borders of their country attention. In any case, MASS HYPNOSIA has been around for ten years, and the three longplayers released so far and various split releases all have an international format. The trio sees itself influenced by old Kreator, Sadus, Merciless or Sacrifice, which is clearly heard. Especially Sadus sound through in the rough vocals, while the guitar work reminds of very early Kreator / Tormentor. Usually, MASS HYPNOSIA give full throttle while releasing a lot of anger and power. "Filigree" is nothing here - but everything is completely unbridled and unleashed.
